Final OSPS Blog!!!

Over a span of about four months, One Stop Prom Shop has been the main focus for all of our Business Education classes. And Sunday was the actual One Stop Prom Shop day, finally ending this four month long project.
The assembly that took place on Tuesday the 26th at our school to market this program to all of our peers. We had a morph suit dance (my group), game show, informational speeches, and tons of free things to hand out! My group, the morph suit team, was to provide the beginning entertainment to the show! We were all beyond nervous before we went on to perform the dance, hearing the crowd....we knew we had one shot to get this right. Overall the dance went great! The moment we started dancing our nerves vanished, we had a couple of mess ups but nothing that was too noticeable.
When Sunday rolled around, we all had had to be at the OSPS location at 10:30. The morph team had two dances to perform while we were there, one at 12:30 and 1:15. The entire OSPS event turned out great, I thought, because there were tons of venders, coupons, dances, fashion shows, free gifts and TONS of people showed up! This event was even featured on the news!
My personal thoughts on it, is that, I'm honestly happy and a little relieved that it's all over. Practicing the morph dance everyday...got a little old pretty fast. But also, in a sense, I miss it.

One Stop Prom Shop!!!

One HUGE project we're working on now, is the One Stop Prom Shop! It's exactly as it sounds, finding every prom need you could possibly think of, prom dress, tuxes, flowers, ect. But this is a lot more complicated than just shopping, A LOT of hard work and effort goes into this. It requires all three of our deca classes, our IMDD class is the creative minds behind it. We have to think of plans for an assembly at our school and other schools in the district, to advertise people coming to this event. I am in a group called the "Morph Group" this group, as crazy as this sounds, must memorize a dance and perform it during the assembly, in front of the ENTIRE school. But the reason we're called this is because we are in morph suits, a full head to toe spandex suit. Exciting and totally nerve-racking at the same time. Our dance is around seven minutes long, nothing too crazy, but there is 12 people in this dance group and that's including me. We've been using our 4th period class as dance practice, we all head to the stage and practice for an hour. Our mission....to make this dance look perfect! The morph's are the entertainment aspect of the assembly and kind of the character of One Stop Prom Shop. Our idea this year was to outdo last year, by making is bigger and better. Last year there was three morphs so we added 9 more this year to get the bang effect! We're also going to have confetti cannons, balloons, a game show and a stop motion video.
I'm excited to be apart of this, this year but it's very time consuming. By the end of it, it'll be so worth it.
